Privacy Requests

Depending upon applicable law, individuals may have rights concerning access to, correction of, or deletion of certain personal information.

Some information may need to be retained for legitimate business purposes, completion of services, recordkeeping, dispute resolution, compliance with legal obligations, or establishment or defense of legal claims.

Privacy requests may be submitted using the contact information provided at the end of this page.

Third-Party Links

The LSPS website may contain links to third-party websites or services. LSPS does not control and is not responsible for the privacy practices, security, or content of third-party websites.

Children's Privacy

LSPS's services are intended for adults and businesses seeking professional litigation-support and related services. LSPS does not knowingly solicit personal information directly from children through its website.

2. Confidentiality & Document Handling

LSPS understands that assignments may involve confidential, sensitive, or case-related information.

Information and documents received in connection with an assignment are used for legitimate business purposes associated with evaluating, administering, performing, documenting, or completing the requested service.

LSPS may provide information and documents to an assigned process server, courier, contractor, investigator, vendor, court, agency, or other service provider when reasonably necessary to complete an authorized assignment.

Clients are responsible for ensuring that they have authority to provide LSPS with documents and information submitted in connection with a service request.

Clients should provide only information reasonably necessary for LSPS to perform the requested service.

3. Payment Terms

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is required before LSPS begins service attempts or performs the requested assignment.

A quote represents the services and charges identified at the time the quote is issued. Additional services, addresses, parties, attempts, mileage, printing, document handling, investigations, court costs, filing fees, expedited scheduling, after-hours work, third-party expenses, or other work outside the original scope may result in additional charges.

Clients are responsible for reviewing the quote and service information for accuracy before authorizing LSPS to proceed.

Third-party costs and expenses incurred on behalf of a client are the client's responsibility and are non-refundable once incurred.

4. Process Service Refund & Cancellation Policy

Refund eligibility depends upon the stage of the assignment when LSPS receives a cancellation request.

Before Documents Are Prepared

A client may request cancellation before documents have been printed or otherwise prepared for service.

Any refund will be reduced by work already performed and any non-refundable expenses already incurred.

After Documents Are Prepared

Once documents have been printed or otherwise prepared for service, the client is responsible for costs already incurred in preparing the assignment, including applicable printing, document handling, preparation, administrative, and third-party expenses.

Any remaining portion of the service fee that has not yet been earned may be eligible for refund if LSPS receives the cancellation request before the first service attempt.

After the First Service Attempt

Once the first service attempt has been made, the entire process service fee is earned and non-refundable.

No refund will be issued after the first service attempt because:

  • Service was unsuccessful

  • The individual could not be located

  • The supplied address was incorrect, incomplete, or invalid

  • The individual moved or no longer resides or works at the supplied address

  • The client cancels the assignment

  • The client no longer requires service

  • The matter settles, is dismissed, or otherwise changes

  • The client elects not to proceed with remaining attempts

Payment is for the performance of process service efforts and attempts and does not guarantee successful service.

Third-Party Fees

Court fees, filing fees, government fees, vendor charges, investigator expenses, courier charges, and other third-party expenses are non-refundable once incurred.

Cancellation by LSPS

If LSPS is unable to perform an assignment for reasons within LSPS's control and no service attempt or other substantive work has been performed, LSPS will determine and issue any refund due for amounts that have not been earned or applied to expenses already incurred.

Cancellation does not eliminate the client's responsibility for services performed or expenses incurred before cancellation.

5. General Terms of Service

Client Information

The client is responsible for providing accurate and complete information necessary to perform the requested service, including the correct service address, party information, documents, deadlines, court information, and any special service instructions.

LSPS is not responsible for delays, unsuccessful attempts, or additional expenses resulting from inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or incorrect information supplied by the client or another source acting on the client's behalf.

Service Attempts

The number and timing of attempts depend upon the service level purchased, assignment requirements, applicable rules, accessibility of the service location, and other circumstances relevant to the assignment.

An attempt does not guarantee successful service.

If a new or alternate address is discovered or provided, additional authorization or charges may be required before service is attempted at the new location.

Service Levels

LSPS may offer Routine, Priority, Rush, targeted, after-hours, weekend, or other scheduling options.

A service level establishes the applicable scheduling priority and does not guarantee that the intended recipient will be personally served within that timeframe.

Circumstances outside LSPS's control—including recipient availability, incorrect addresses, restricted access, weather, traffic, court closures, emergencies, or other conditions—may affect completion.

Expedited and Special Requests

Rush, priority, same-day, targeted-time, weekend, after-hours, or other special service requests may be subject to additional fees and availability.

LSPS reserves the right to determine whether a requested timeframe can reasonably be accepted.

No Guarantee of Successful Service

LSPS will make reasonable efforts to perform assignments in accordance with the service requested and applicable requirements.

Payment for process service compensates LSPS for the work and attempts performed. It does not constitute a guarantee that a particular person will be located or successfully served.

Completion & Documentation

Upon completion of an assignment, LSPS may provide appropriate documentation concerning the result of the service, including an affidavit, return, declaration, status report, or other applicable record.

Additional charges may apply when work outside the original scope is requested.

6. Changes to These Policies & Terms

LSPS may revise these Policies & Terms periodically to reflect changes in services, business practices, technology, or applicable requirements.

The current version will be posted on the LSPS website with the applicable effective or revision date.
